Hello to everyone! All the songs played on this special show have been bought from South America. Majority of the music is Brazilian. Actually about 80% of it is. Salvador is one the best places for music on the continent. However I was not willing to carry around records for the remaining four months of my trip. Therefore I waited till the back of the trip. Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo were the two places where I purchased this beautiful music. The first place in Buenos Aires, I just happened to stumble across a small boxed sized room that was full of vinyl. Very well organized I must add. An enthusiasts and collector dream. I was on a budget so I had to contain myself. I am pretty sure that if I went back I could locate the store. It is frustrating when you find somewhere like this and you can’t spend freely.  The man in the shop only spoke a little English. Which is better than me, because I don’t speak any Spanish at all. He was extremely helpful. He pulled out the best Brazilian stuff from the information I told him. As for the tango music, I didn’t have a clue. Thanks to him I have managed to get two classic vinyls with some classic traditional Tango (tracks 6 and 7). The Joao album that he recommended is simply beautiful. The smooth, and tender bossa sounds of Rio just take you away. Encapsulating the charm of Rio (and you know if you’ve been there). In contrast we have the soulful, funky sounds from Bahia. The region where Salvador is in. The famous and contagious sounds of samba. Here the people are happy, always smiling and love to dance. It’s something they are born to do.  Most of this I bought in Sao Paulo. Just round the corner from the famous Galleria Do Rock in the centre of town. There are many shops scattered around the plaza. If you love metal or rock, you will love this place. We should have places like this in London (that’s another story for another time). Here I was on my own. Went through a number of vinyl’s and chose the ones I liked the sound of. I’m going to leave it at that. Thanks for reading this, hope you enjoy the show. Any questions just tweet me.
