What’s going on ladies and gents. After my first classic RnB mix went down so well, I felt compelled to record another one. This time I’ve gone with the newer stuff released over the last 18 months. You may notice the absence of any female vocalists, mainly due to the fact that I’m not really feeling the output right now. This mix is dominated by just a handful of male vocalists which I’m sure will go down well with the ladies. The Weeknd have exploded onto the scene with a unique brand of what I like to call ‘moody RnB’ but it works so well, amazing vocal with stripped back lyrics and powerful instrumentals. I’ve chosen my favourite songs from his trilogy of mixtapes released last year. Frank Ocean also appears heavily with his chilled back and emotive style he’s backed up his popular Nostaligia Ultra mixtape with his recent album Channel Orange. Well known names Drake and Jeremih also feature. Jeremih is well known for certain songs, Birthday Sex in particular but iv drawn for a few tracks off his Late Nights mixtape made aware to me by Hark. Drake you either love him or hate him, I personally am a fan of his music. Finally, an artist a few of you may not have heard of is Julian. Julian is part of the XO crew from Toronto; fans of the Weeknd will appreciate his mixtape Black Heart. All types of tunes in this mix from breakups, being loved up, being hurt, to chasing that certain person or to just getting down and freaky with your partner. Most of these tracks have featured in past Whatever Sessions but here you can enjoy them all in one mix. I hope you all enjoy it. Next show is Hark’s best of 2012, so stay posted.
